Visit our Design Services page under our Learning Center section to learn more and get started. If you have any additional questions, please contact us at info@stickylife.com.

Can you create a decal using my logo?

Yes, absolutely! Ideally, you'll want to provide us with a high quality image of your logo for production, preferably a vector PDF file with all fonts converted to outlines and no empty margins around the sides. Visit our File Setup tutorial page under our How To section to learn more about the best way to set up your files for printing.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept many different forms of payment, such as:

  • Discover
  • MasterCard
  • Visa
  • American Express
  • PayPal

We also accept checks or money orders, as well as Purchase Orders from registered customers with an approved Purchase Order Agreement form on file. You can find more information on how to place an order using a Purchase Order on our Customer Care page.

Please note: orders placed using checks or money orders will be put on hold until we receive payment in full. Once payment is received, we'll get your order into production.

How long will it take to get my order?

The turnaround time for your order depends on which shipping method you choose during checkout. We use Flat Rate shipping for all of our orders and have three options available: Standard Shipping orders typically take ten business days to arrive, Fast Shipping takes seven business days, and Rush Shipping should arrive in four business days. Though these are normal shipping times, many orders will ship sooner. Rarely, an order may ship later than expected but we will always notify you of any shipping delays should that occur.

NOTE: Rush shipping is not available on large quantity or temporary tattoo orders due to the necessary production time.

To estimate when you will get your order, consider the following: If you place your order on a Wednesday during the middle of the day then your first full business day would be Thursday. Saturdays, Sundays and National Holidays do not count as a business day. In our example lets say you selected Standard shipping. So if Thursday was day one, Friday would be day two, the following Monday would be day three and so on. If you continue counting, you should expect to receive your order on the tenth business day. If you don't receive your order by day eleven, please contact us.

Will you ship to a different address than my billing address?

Absolutely, that's not a problem at all!

Do you accept international orders?

Currently, we do not accept orders from outside of the US, US territories, APO addresses, or Canada. However, we're hoping to one day be able to expand our services to people all over the globe.

Do you have setup fees?

We do not have setup fees for those who design their own products. We do offer Design Services for customers who need us to create a design from scratch based on their own ideas and needs. For more information, please send us an email us at info@stickylife.com.

Do you offer quantity discount pricing?

Yes, depending on the product you're planning to purchase we offer a wide array of discounts on our products. Our bulk quantity discounts start for orders of three or more of the same design, with additional pricing options for quantities of 10+, 25+, 50+, and so on. The price points for the different quantity breaks we offer will display on your Digital Proof page once you've finalized your design before adding it to your Shopping Cart.

What is your return policy?

Since all orders are unique to you and your individual personality, we will not accept any custom designed products back as we cannot re-use or resell them. If your order was damaged during shipping or if your order was for accessory parts and not a customized item, we will replace that item with one of the same once the old item has been returned to us. When customizing your own products, you are fully responsible for all proof reading and layout issues. We hold no responsibility for spelling or grammatical errors. For more information, read our full Terms of Service.

Are your temporary tattoos safe?

Yes, most certainly! We would never intentionally create a product for your enjoyment that would harm anyone. All of our temporary tattoos are made from FDA approved materials and have gone through various tests to ensure your safety. The only pain you may experience would be from applying one to a hairy part of your body and then ripping it off (we don't advise doing this though--it hurts!).

Product Questions

Will your stickers or decals ruin or fade the paint on my car?

No, at least not that we have seen. The adhesive on the back of our stickers and decals are designed for application to cars and windows for up to five years. Depending on your car's finish, at the end of five years you should not notice any fading of color. We do, however, recommend that you check out our how to section to review the best method for removing your decal.

Am I able to remove the sticker or decal from my wall or car without ruining my paint?

Yes. This isn't something that you need to worry about for cars, but we understand that some people are apprehensive about placing a bumper sticker on their vehicle in the first place. To reassure you that our stickers and decals are safe and wont ruin your cars finish, we have provided instructions detailing the proper way to remove your sticker or decal from your car or other surface. This will, of course, depend on the quality of your vehicle paint. We cannot guarantee that damage won't occur due to a poor or old paint job. In regards to walls, if your walls were not properly cleaned prior to painting or a low grade basic paint was used, then the wall decal could potentially pull the paint off the drywall.

What is the difference between a sticker and a decal?

There truly is a difference between a sticker and a decal; however, on our site we refer to them essentially as the same thing. Everyone has a different opinion when it comes to this question. According to StickyLife.com a sticker is a single, flat, solid, uniformed paper or vinyl with an adhesive backing and a graphic that communicates a particular message to a given audience. A decal is basically the same thing as a sticker, but may not be a single piece and requires some form of transfer paper to help maintain a specific layout during application. You can find a more detailed explanation of these differences in our How To section on the Decals vs Stickers vs Static Clings page.

What is the lifespan of your decals?

The lifespan of any of our products is as short or long as the products' caregiver allows. If someone designs a customized license plate and places it on their bedroom wall as decoration, it will last a whole lot longer than if someone actually put it on their car. The average lifespan of our decals is up to 5 years based on elemental exposure, and we have had many last even longer. You can expect at least 3 years for outdoor use before shrinkage or fading starts to occur.

What is the lifespan of your temporary tattoos?

The life span of our temporary tattoos depends on the person wearing them and where they wear them. If you were to apply our temporary tattoos to something other than skin the tattoo may last for years without degradation. The adhesion of a temporary tattoos is between the image and the skin, so sweat and natural skin exfoliation will cause a temporary tattoo to lose it's adhesive property. Our tests have shown that the average life expectancy for our temporary tattoos is 4 to 5 days. Of course, you can remove tattoos at any time simply by washing them with soap and water, or using gentle solvents like rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover.

Will your vinyl letters, decals, and stickers withstand the elements?

Yes. All of our vinyl letters, stickers, and decals are waterproof and can withstand most weather scenarios.

What kind of surfaces can I put stickers/decals on?

You can apply StickyLife.com stickers, decals, vinyl lettering, and temporary tattoos on nearly any hard, smooth, and clean surfaces you want. We DON'T recommend putting them on fresh paint (fresh paint = less than 2 weeks old) or on anything rough, dirty, or hairy. You can find more information on decal application and recommended surface types in our How To section on the Decal Application Surfaces page.

Can I take my stickers/decals off and put them back on?

Typically, it's not a good idea. Depending on shape it may be okay, but we cannot guarantee the life of the sticker or decal after removal. Some shapes, like stars, seals, tennis rackets, and so on, should not be removed unless it's intended for disposal. Some shapes that might be okay for removal and replacement might include: circles, squares, footballs, speech bubbles, tennis balls, hockey pucks, etc. In general, most decals will not be able to be reused or reapplied.

How big can you make vinyl letters?

We can create vinyl letters up to 60" (5 feet) tall. Please contact us for a custom quote on large lettering.

Can decals be used on drinkware? How long will they last?

Absolutely! Our decals work great on any kind of drinkware with a smooth, texture free surface. We've had plenty of customers who have used our decals on water bottles, travel thermoses, even wine glasses! Decals used on drinkware can last anywhere from 1-3 years, depending on how often it's washed, the hardness and temperature of the water, what kind of detergents are used, and whether you hand wash your item or use a dishwasher.

How well do your decals hold up in sea water?

We've had many customers use our decals on their boats, canoes, kayaks, and surfboards, and they've held up perfectly! Sea water won't decrease the lifespan of your decal beyond the standard 3-5 years, so you don't have to worry about replacing them sooner than expected.

Can I write on a static cling like a dry erase board?

We don't recommend using our Static Clings like a dry erase board since the material will absorb the ink from the marker fairly quickly. In a few different tests we've done in house, any maker left on the static cling material for more than five minutes is essentially permanent and can't be fully removed from the cling.

Can you print on clear material to give it a stained glass look?

Anything we print using our clear material gets a white primer base behind the CMYK ink to help the design stand out once applied to your surface (whether it's a decal or a static cling). We can opt to leave the white primer out if you'd like, but the final print won't have a transparent effect like you'd see with a stained glass window. Instead, it will have a matted, translucent look, similar to the look of frosted privacy glass. Any light that shines through will be filtered and diffused.

Do you do engraving or embossing for your key chains, dog tags, and license plates?

We do not currently offer engraving or embossing as a print option for our key chains, dog tags, or aluminum license plates. Our key chains, dog tags, aluminum license plates, and license plate frames are printed using a process called Sublimation, where a high temperature heat press is used to transfer a printed design to a powder coated surface. The end result is a full color piece with a smooth, glossy finish.

Will your decals work on fabric?

Technically, yes. BUT! the decal material isn't intended for use on fabric, and the adhesive is very strong, so there's a fairly significant risk of stretching, pulling, or otherwise damaging the fabric should you need to remove the decal. We have had a few customers use our decals as stencils on fabric for painting projects, however, which has a really neat finished look once the decal is removed.

Designer Questions

How do I design my own keychain, dog tag, or any product for that matter?

For help designing any of our products, please feel free to check out our tutorials section where you can find tips that cover our various design tools.

Do you have any other colors, shapes, or sizes available?

We offer a set list of available color options to choose from within the Design Tool itself, but we can match any other colors available up to 99% of the time. If you have a specific color you'd like us to match during production, let us know in your Order Comments when you place your order. Ideally, you'll want to include the Pantone PMS color code you need us to match and we can take care of that during our Pre Production set up.

If you are looking for a color, shape, size or something else in particular that you haven't found on our site, feel free to contact us with your ideas. We take customer requests as the first line of consideration when setting up new products.

What kind of images can I use? What file types do you accept?

It depends on if you're working with us directly or if you're designing your own with our Design Tool. If you're working with us directly, we will always ask for a vector PDF file for all your artwork if possible. If you don't have a high resolution vector PDF of your design, then a high resolution raster image will work. If you're working with our Design Tool you can upload any vector or raster image (jpg, jpeg, png, gif) up to 15MB. For a full list of acceptable file types and tips on setting up your file for print, check out our Artwork Guidelines.

What is the difference between vector and raster files?

Raster Files:
Raster files are made up of tiny squares, known as pixels, which are filled in to represent a design's lines and arcs. The quality of a raster file is measured in DPI (dots per inch). In order for us to use a raster file, the file must be at least 300dpi. We cannot enlarge an existing raster file without losing some of its graphical quality.

Vector Files:
A vector file is a file where lines and arcs are stored as mathematical vector coordinates. This means that vector files are made up of precisely defined entities, each with its own beginning and end, rather than lumpy groups of pixels as found in raster files. Vector files can be enlarged or shrunk to any size without losing any graphic quality to the design.

Can I use photos and raster images for my stickers and decals?

Yes, you can. If you can think, it you can make it at StickyLife.com. Your creativity is truly the only thing holding you back!

Are there programs that will convert a raster image into a vector image?

There are several programs out there that can convert your raster image into a vector image. However, they produce files that are very rough and usually require rebuilding. There is not a simple way to convert a raster image into a vector that does not involve labor in cleaning the image to ensure high quality.

Can you convert my raster image into a vector file?

Yes, it would be our pleasure to help you with that process. Please contact us at info@stickylife.com include your photo/image that you would like converted and we will email you back with a quote to convert your image/photo into a vector image. Please keep in mind that no photo converted into a vector file will ever look the same, and some image quality may be lost. Small sized raster images that are low resolution may not be able to convert properly without losing most of their detail.

Can you color match?

We can color match up to 99% of all Pantone colors. Simply leave us a note in your Order Comments with the PMS color code you need us to match, and we'll take care of the set up during Pre Production.

How To Questions

How do I apply vinyl products?

In order to appropriately apply any of our vinyl decals, we recommend that you first clean the surface thoroughly. We have accessories to help make the application process smoother. Please check out our accessories department for more details. Once the surface is cleaned, allow it to dry and then respray the surface with our application solution or a 50/50 blend of water and isopropyl alcohol solution. Be sure to also spray the back of the vinyl decal. Yeah, we know sounds silly; why would you spray the sticky part of the sticker/decal? Our decals are made with a solvent based adhesive, so the application fluid or water/alcohol won't impact the adhesive properties.

Once both sides are wet, you can now position your sticker, decal, or static cling to the surface. Spraying both sides will allow you to slide your vinyl product around and into the ideal position easily without immediately sticking to the application surface. Once you have your design in position, hold the product in place with one hand and then use a firm squeegee (also for sale in our accessories department) to remove the excess solution. Wait a few minutes for the remaining solution to dry up, then slowly peel back the transfer paper.

If you received a sticker from us and it does not have a transfer paper, don't worry; you just won't perform that step. By using the solution and squeegee, you will not only be able to position it with better accuracy but you will also be able to remove virtually all air bubbles that may occur when applying new vinyl products.

The wet application method described above is not necessary for all adhesive based products. Some vinyl lettering is small enough that you can apply it directly to the surface once you've cleaned it without adding any application aids. If you do apply dry, make sure it is straight and located exactly where you need it first, as you won't be able to easily reposition your product once it's applied.

Check out our How To section for additional tips on Vinyl Decal Application.

How do I remove vinyl products?

Removing your vinyl product will depend on what kind of product you have. We usually recommend using a scraper tool to remove our vinyl decals and stickers, but a static cling can be easily removed without needing any additional equipment. You can find more information on removing vinyl decals and stickers under our How To section.

After applying, I have bubbles in my sticker/decal, what should I do?

A wet application is the best way to prevent bubbles from appearing under your stickers, decals, or vinyl letters. If you do find some small bubbles under your decal after applying it to your surface, don't worry. Small bubbles will actually dissipate over time through the material itself. For larger sized bubbles, use a thin sewing needle or pin to carefully poke a hole near the edge of the bubble then slowly press the bubble out with your fingers or a squeegee. You can also use a heat gun to help smooth out any minor wrinkles in the vinyl if needed.

Why does my product color say 'clear' if the design is in color?

The "clear" is pertaining to any background color that might have been selected for you decal. Custom Shape Decals, Wall Decals, Trailer Lettering, and Vinyl Lettering have no background material, so it defaults to clear. Your decal will be printed in the colors used in your design, just like you set it up. Our system is a WYSIWYG system; what you see in the Design Tool and what you see on your Digital Proof page is what you will get for your final product. As long as what you see in both of those places matches how you want your product to look, you're good to go. If not, you can always make edits to your design before adding it to your cart to checkout.

My magnets don't stick to my vehicle as well as they should!

If your vehicle is from the early 2000s or newer, chances are pretty high the body is made with a non-magnetic material like low grade steel, aluminum, fiberglass, or even bioplastics. Vehicle hoods, trunks, tailgates, and gas tank doors tend to still be made with higher grade steel, which makes them the perfect spot for your car magnet. Car doors, fenders, and bumpers tend to be be made with aluminum or fiberglass, so a magnet won't stay put. You may find your magnet sticks great to your driver's side door and does fine on your passenger doors when you're not driving, but that's usually due to the metal parts inside the door (like wiring, nuts and bolts, etc). Most driver's side doors have a much higher amount of metal components inside the door itself, which helps the magnet stay in place better than on other doors.
